This home that we designed for a young couple and was really exciting for us. The brief given by our clients was to design a bright and cozy home that revolved around art. As a result, our clients’ avid interest in art was thoughtfully portrayed throughout the house, carefully balancing something bold with something quiet to create a warm and inviting space.
The brief from our clients was not to have a TV in the living area instead have a space for books and art to shine. Hence, the living area was designed to lounge, read books and host family and friends with a layered aesthetic in mind to make it cozy.
The galley kitchen needed a total overhaul so without making any civil changes, a lot more function was added to the flow of the space by taking down the door that separated the utility from the kitchen and replacing the window to allow more light in the space.
We wanted to a bit more fun and introduce a design element that could start be a conversation starter through the common bathroom. Going for a maximum impact – we made it dark and moody and introduced pops of color in the vanity and art to make it sing.
The second bedroom was made into a guest suite. With simple and essential pieces, like the beautiful bed with rattan headboard, whimsical pendant lights over the nightstands to the vintage touch added through the armoire, this is the perfect space for the guests to unwind and recharge.
The third bedroom was converted into a media room / home office space for the couple. With a sectional sofa that converts into a bed it was a perfect way to add room for friends and family sleepovers.
The master bedroom suite was designed to feel like a retreat. A space to soothe and reset – reflect a style that brings serenity to the mind and body.
